AI Revolution – Even Faster Than Expected

Marcel took us on a fascinating journey through the world of AI. His presentation opened our eyes to how rapidly AI is evolving – far faster than Moore’s Law ever predicted. Here are the key takeaways:

• AI at eye level with humans.
  Machines can read, write, listen, and speak - all at astonishingly low costs. This unlocks entirely new business applications. While AI-generated voices were considered "creepy" just three years ago, today, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to tell the difference.

• AI with a steep learning curve.
  If a use case is "almost good enough" today, it will be production-ready tomorrow.

• AI is becoming rapidly cheaper.
  We are witnessing an extreme drop in costs. What didn’t make commercial sense a year ago is now at least 10x cheaper. Marcel mentioned a case from the photography sector where costs have dropped by a factor of 25 in just a year. This particular use case is now ready for market launch.

• Willingness to pay is increasing.
  AI creates real value, and users are willing to pay for it. As a result, AI startups are being valued much higher, much faster. While strong startups used to achieve an ARR of $10M in their first year, AI startups today are hitting $100M.

• Your own data is valuable.
  To assess the relevance of new models for your own use cases, you need to benchmark them against your own data. This can be a competitive advantage, as it helps establish a baseline for AI projects that others in the market don’t have.
